Student Recognition

Throughout the school year, efforts are made to acknowledge the achievements of our students. The following recognizes our students that excel in academics, participation in clubs or activities:

The Stallion Cup

Students who receive a 3.5 or better for academic excellence, character awards and overall achievements throughout the first semester are recognized at an awards program in the spring.

Character Awards

These are presented during The Stallion Cup. The recipients are chosen by their peers and therefore truly reflect the "Selvidge Spirit".

Positive Office Referrals

Students receive various forms of positive feedback from the faculty at Selvidge Middle School. Positive Office Referrals are often utilized to acknowledge students for their efforts, success and behavior. These referrals spotlight the Character Education Traits such as cooperation and perseverance. Teachers submit referrals to the grade level administrators who then make contact with the student and his/her parents in order to celebrate the "good news".
